Pop the clog.

One more friggin' day to matriculation! Goodness, I absolutely cannot wait. I know half the world out there is dreading the return of school but gosh, working completely sucks. The mundanity of doing something over and over (like working on accounts, promoting stuff, serving people, teaching stuff that you have already gone through a miilion and one times etc.) is killing me. It's like a Dementor. Hahaha. Anyway, I'm so anticipating rushing for lectures/ tutorials, entertaining thoughts of skipping them, late-night studying, cursing and swearing at homework/ tests, panicking over doubts which teachers cannot clear blah di blah. Gawd. I swear I'm mad and I'm gonna regret saying this the moment school starts. But I prefer education hell to work hell. Haha. Education hell keeps your brain going, whereas the work one... Your brain remains status quo. In a certain sort of way. Okay, I haven't got a clue as to what I have just typed because...
-

... My head's currently up in the clouds. Haha.

with a simple telephone call.

I think I'm mad to go running/ jogging after standing for 8 hours for the past 2 days (and the next 3 days to come). I covered 4km today. If I don't become flat-footed, my knees will probably give way and I will be wheelchair-bound for the rest of my life. I could feel the right one 'cracking' when I ran/ jogged just now. Ughhh. And my right thumb is permanently weak, after I hurt it during Bryan's class. I can't pull open things with it (You know how you need both your thumb and forefinger to pull open something?).
-

Ugh. My English is atrocious. Parting words: The horror of ever needing to stand for 8 hours a day just to get 50 bucks just so that I can feed myself will be my motivation for university. *shudders*
-

And gosh! Why do some many people hang out a Bugis?!? It won't be a place that I want to hang out unless I'm dead dead DEAD bored. Plaza Sing too.
-

And boy, is Singapore getting smaller! Can't wait for the next 4 years to pass and it's bye.

come here girl, bounce.

Blogger is cranky, again. Honestly. Anyway, next week's filled with

work
Japanese studies
The Language of Prose
The Right Word
Harry Potter and his remaining books
Shopaholic and Baby
The City
jogging
dance.
-

I feel knackered already. Haha. Honestly, I think I'm the one with hyperactive thyroid, Fel. And Erin Lucas from 'The City' is gorgeous. I love her style.

she can't find her thirst.

I bought 4 pairs of earrings today. Haha. And next week's pay is all going to clothes before school commences. Hahaha. Eli gave me a *blank face* each time I asked her if I should buy (a pair of earrings). I know I'm spending wildly and honestly, it's just gonna get worse. But when school starts, there won't be any shopping for me till December! Yep, that completely justifies EVERYTHING.
-

Studying today was, needless to say, an epic failure. It's good that all these fiascos are happening now. 'Cause then, they won't happen when term starts. HAHA. Warped, completely. Anyway, it was great catching up with dear Eli. Church was kind of bad. Not the service, but... Sigh. I'm just too selfish at the moment. I can't give.
-

I'm counting down to July 31st. And when July 31st comes, I'm gonna count down to August 11th.

Meanwhile, hello Sun. Could you please cool your hotness?
-

P.S.:'The City' weekend marathon is on tonight! Yipee!!! *bimbo-ness overflows.*
P.P.S.: I feel like having a Harry Potter marathon. Oh dear.

Starbucks Saturday.

Why on earth is Blogger being such a bitch to me? Ugh. But Mail2Blogger is absolutely its saving grace. Otherwise, you will see a very disgruntled Charlene packing off to a new abode. (And then, maybe returning a month later when everything's fixed because its template system, to exaggerate things a lot, is to 'die for'. Oh. Do add on the fact that blogskins.com exist! Haha.)
-

I got myself a job next week, with Dor. Seriously, I don't know why I bothered to. I told myself that I would really slack it all out for the remaining 3 weeks of my hols (which have become really dreary. Never again will I ever complain about school. Haha.). But it pays well and I needn't wear stuffy formal clothes... And also, well, there are a million and one things out there that I want to buy. Haha. JH, do I sound like you? XP
-

Heading to Raffles City later to study Japanese and then, read a little on 'The Language of Prose'. Eli will be joining me around noon. Isa will be coming around 2 to get his NDP tickets. And then, I will be off to Church around 3.30pm. Long day ahead. I only hope that I will have enough strength to last me for my run tonight. (This week has been way productive!!! *completely in 7th heaven* I jogged from Saturday to Wednesday and attended Bryan's and Choon Hui's classes on Thursday and Friday respectively. :) Darn. I'm really missing Aerobics. Kangli mentioned that you will get eleplantine muscles from it though. Which is making me hesistate to just sign up right here, right now *starts singing 'Right Here, Right Now'* without even considering about my timetable. It's arriving on the July 31st, which is a painfully long time away for me.)
-

La di dum. Gonna go prepare my stuff now. Am hoping to get my eyebrows done today too! But will probably be too lazy to. Haha.
-

P.S.: Can't believe that I actually ate a bread stuffed with luncheon meat in a desperate attempt to fill my tummy. It's the foulest! Besides, hotdogs. But then again, I do enjoy eating certain hotdogs (like those from Ikea). Haha.

Once upon a time...

I have been thinking about university quite a bit, now that I'm currently jobless (and very happy about it. Haha.) and also largely due to the fact that school term begins in about 2 weeks' time. *shudders* Haha. Math has always seemed right to and for me. And I kinda have a rough idea as to which branch of Math I would like to go into. Which is good (If you have any idea how fickle I can be.)! Haha. Anyway, there are electives in schools that we have to do and that's what making up most of my current musing. I don't just want to do random electives. I suppose it will be quite fun to learn a little of everything, really. But I want to achieve something out of it, you know. Rather then, just be a 'jack of all trades, and master of none'. It will be easier for me, besides. I have to be quite focused in order for me to feel that I ain't messed up. Quite a one-track mind kinda person, really. Pathetic. *rolls eyes* (Yes, I can't for pete's sake multi-task. Listening to music whilst doing problems was getting to be quite an uphill task during the big As.) So anyway, I have decided to do a minor in English Literature.

It's gonna be one hell of a feat to pull off but I'm quite determined about it. If I stick close to the resolution that I have in my head right now, I think I will be just fine. (Even though, I'm positive the workload will finish me off before the end of 4 years.)
-

Omg! Do wish me luck!!! Haha. I'm feeling a tad jittery just thinking about it, since I have never been 'known' for English/ English Literature in my family. (I still remember getting caned in primary school for my atrocious grammar and Mum making me complete an entire English assessment book in Primary 5. That was the first time I ever finished an assessment book and boy, did it help a hell lot!) And when was the last time I studied Literature? Right... 3 friggin' years ago. Hahaha. *starts psycho-ing myself that, quote Chua, 'I can do it!!!'* Hahaha. :)))

Lastly,

HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY,
LAW JIA HAO!!! <333

REVIEW: Eucerin (Skin Regulating Cream-Gel)

Purchased from: Pharmacy at CGH
Price: ???
Directions: Apply a thin layer on problem areas.
Comments:
Sometimes, after graveyard shifts, I notice that my skin gets all red and dotty. No, they aren't spots but they look like imminent ones. So what I do is to apply it all over my face after I wash it and go to sleep. It comes out as a white cream and it is absorbed easily onto your face. There is no sticky feeling at all. And when I wake up, my skin feels incredibly smooth and clear! It doesn't smell bad either. Though it is quite pricey, it's a must have for me! Right now, I haven't got very troubled skin. So yep, just in case it's too harsh, it's a weekly treatment for me. (Eucerin's a brand that has products for sensitive skin. So their stuff can't be THAT harsh. Nevertheless, I think that applying acne medicine frequently for an okay complexion will backfire.)

Just to digress a little, I actually got this to replace a particular Neutrogena product. I can't remember the name, but it was discontinued in Singapore. That one contained salicylic acid. (Eucerin contains 2% lactic acid.) I used it when I was 15/ 16 when I had very serious acne. My face was spotty and constantly red! I read about some regime using benzoyl peroxide (BP) but that medicine kinda 'burnt' my skin. I had brown scabs all over my face at one period of time. The horrors! *shudders* Anyway, when I started using that Neutrogena product, my face cleared up a lot. Even Mum remarked about it. It was was THAT noticeable. I aked my derm about it and she mentioned that SA is an alternative for BP (Usually, they will prescribe BP first.) but it may be too harsh for sensitive skin. Which is kind of weird because it worked perfectly for me. Anyway, I haven't been able to find another product which contains SA, except for Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment but it's kinda too sticky for my liking.

Sidenote: Recently, I went to Guardian at Transit Area, Terminal 1 and realized that they didn't carry it. I will be checking Watsons and other Guardian branches and will update on its availability and price.

SEPHORA YOU!

I have no idea why Blogger is going cranky on me, so I'm currently blogging through email. Hopefully, this works. Caught 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' with Fil and Quek yesterday. I'm gonna blame the fact that I missed the previous movie and reading from the 5th book onwards for my 'Umm...' reaction when the credits rolled. Thank you Fil and Quek for accompanying me to watch the movie!!! (And for the popcorn!)
-

Finally had my wish for MacDonald's Cinnamon Melts granted by Fairy Godmother Filza (Thanks, Fil!). Unfortunately, they were too crazily sweet for me to digest. I wouldn't ever EVER buy them again, unless I wish to court misery and suffering (from diabetes) for the rest of my life.
-

Met up with Chua and Aretha today and we went to しょくど!!! Hahaha. I know, it's my 2nd time in a month but I love it!!! We spent lots of time catching up, walked around Raffles City and then headed down to ION! Haha. Okay, it's not that much of a big deal. The upper floors (which shops aren't really opened) cater to the rich arses while the lower ones (which shops are mostly opened) are for poorer folks, like me. Haha. But the ONE thing that you have got to do when you're there (if you're a girl or a SNAG, that is.) is to check out SEPHORA!!! Hahaha. It's uber-big and felt with sooo much make-up stuff. I could stay there all day, I swear. Haha. Just like how I can stay at きのくにや for hours and hours. Haha. I'm loving the Burt's Bees section, though prices are much cheaper at Whoopeekiddies. But oh well, you know, sometimes you just want to carry a Sephora bag and take a promenade along the (ever-busy. Seriously, 'recession' doesn't seem to exist in Singapore. While everyone on every other corner of the planet is tightening his belt, malls and streets in SG are clogged up every friggin' hour of the day!!!) streets of Orchard. Ahhh... Sigh... I feel like I'm on Oxford Street already. HA HA.
-

Very sleepy, very hot, very fat, very lazy Charlene is off to watch 'Friends' now. (I saw Mike for the first time this morn. And I'm in love with him.)
-

P.S.: I got a bag at Accessorize for school!!! :))) It's kinda like my Superman one. Except replace them with white flamingos on a navy blue base.

C'est la vie... NO MORE.

My current desktop, featuring the quote from the movie 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', which I got from Jules' l-j. I want to be able to read it each time I switched on my lappie (which happens to be everyday).
-

Chatted on the phone with Chua for a good 2 plus hours last night. That lucky woman is catching Harry Potter this evening at Plaza Singapura. And she got me hooked onto Neopets again. Seeing that I'm stuck at home with a deaf and painful right ear, I spent a good 5 hours earning 25k. What a waste of time. Anyway, the addiction is waning already. Thank goodness. In between the frantic earning of Neopoints, I was doing 'The Right Word'... Quite a fiasco, really. But that's not the point. I'm currently on the section of 'French Words and Phrases' and boy, is the yearning for learning French there!!! Haha. Okay, maybe after I'm done with my dance lessons and after I have found an aerobics class to join... Haha. Okay, I know I'm sooo gonna sign up for French classes. A tad heavy on the load and mighty ambitious, I must say. But anything to keep the devil at bay! (JH, are you reading this?!?) I did try to learn French (and Korean and Japanese) by myself during secondary school because Mum was like "You can't even handle 2 languages! Look at your Chinese!". Aprospos, those attempts were a fiasco too.
-

I hate these 9 months or so of vacation (Okay, I know I'm gonna eat my words later in the year. But by then, I should have been given some pepper and salt along the way.). I mean, I achieved nothing. Not that I had sought out to attain anything. I hate taking each day as it comes. I like working towards something. BUT then, there's the ever-prevalent laziness part of me which just procrastinates and procrastinates. It's so hard to find a motivation in life, a drive... And THEN again, that is very much dependent on you and your willpower.

Well, that says a lot about mine. Ugh. Utter revolting, just thinking about it.

School, start already!!! (For the gazillion-th time!)
-

Benjamin Button, please work your magic on me. Make your words stay so that I won't look back when I'm old, wrinkled and all saggy, regretting this and that.
-

P.S: Packed my table and chair (Yes, stuff like socks, tees, dresses etc. are dumped onto my chair too.) yesterday out of boredom from being 'quarantined' at home by stupid ear.

Military Architecture.

Who knew this innocuous-looking slit-in-the-wall could be so deadly? And even have a name for it?!? It looked like a huge thermometer whammed into the wall, to me.
-

Interesting, isn't it? Architecture.

August tells it all.

I used to have a habit of smsing in the death of the night, 'cause it was like when they woke up in the morning... BEEP! You've got SMS! (Okay. Ain't funny. Haha.) I mean, well, I liked to wake up to that. But you know, sometimes that bud happened to be awake and messaged right back! And I would be like "Cool...". Haha. Anyway, that happened last night, close to 3am. Haha. It was nice to read your multiple 'Hahahaha's again.
-

Facebook has some really swell stuff. Take a look at what August says about me...

Loves to joke
Attractive
Suave and caring
Brave and fearless
Firm and has leadership qualities
Knows how to console others
Too generous and egoistic
Takes high pride of oneself
Thirsty for praises
Extraordinary spirit
Easily angered
Angry when provoked
Easily jealous
Observant
Careful and cautious
Thinks quickly
Independent thoughts
Loves to lead and to be led
Loves to dream
Talented in the arts, music and defense
Sensitive but not petty
Poor resistance against illnesses
Learns to relax
Hasty and rusty
Romantic
Loving and caring
Loves to make friends

The 'angry' and 'jealous' bits are dead hit-ons.

sweet nostalgia.

Economics is the way of life, darling.
Ms.: (after being super exasperated with the class's oblivious attitude towards BOP) CY! Answer the question please.
CY: Eh... (pause) You must ask the CY of the previous lesson!

Time out.
"I feel like I'm in Chinatown."
- Filza (on CNY celebration).

"All these lines; vertical, horizontal... you don't have to draw them. In exams, time is of the ESSENCE."
- Dr. Rahman (on Chemical Equilibrium).

"And stars are like thrown into their eyes."
- Mrs. Seng (on anime characters).

Leave me to my own devices.
And oh! The most romantic/ idol-drama-like sentence of last night...

"(Imagine some guy tells you...) 'If you are comma, I'll be the full-stop to complete your life.' "
~ Louis Chua

I know just whose heart will skip a million and one beats. AHAHAHA.

And oh, according to LC, anyone who wants a multi-racial boyfriend can look for CY. Except that you must close your eyes. ('Cause he can only do the voices.)

Sometimes we all need some time alone.
CY: I spent the whole day studying Vectors.
LC: (with a deadpan expression) But vectors came out already what.

big girls don't cry.

Before ZT comes charging into my house with a dagger because of the post below, here's an entry. (Past few days were spent sleeping, popping Panadols, waking up in the death of the night in pain on my entire right face and neck because of my stupid ear.)
-

The train ride home with Fel was spent reminiscing about 2008.

I really do miss 07S202 a lot.
Every single person.
-

I still laugh over silly incidents, like the time when LC sat on the class attendance list without knowing and everyone was searching for it... How CY questioned each and everyone of us and then, when LC said he didn't know what happened after he signed the paper. And when he got up, TADAHHH!!! The list was on his seat. Haha. There was the famous LC's 'awkward silence', coined by Loh. Then there was Melvin who would be very thrilled each time he made a wittier comment than CY. CY's funny remarks during lessons... Lunch breaks with the TKGS' gang. Slacking happily during PE lessons with Fel whilst everyone was undergoing gruelling training for NAPFA. Study sessions with Eli and Crys. Train rides home with Hiang Ling, Li Fang, Celest and Shu Ning. SMS marathons held with CY. Crying sessions on the mobile after certain papers with LC. Cramming sessions with Fil, Jean, Dan, Naqib and Siu Pan. Siu Pan's selfless help during the A Levels and his constant encouragement. The little notes that were exchanged between the TKGS gang... And of course, Rahman's scoldings and funny remarks!!! Haha. And oh! Jia Hao's presence, which made all the above possible. <333

It was my favourite and best year in college and I miss it a hell lot.

CINNAMON MELTS <333

Cinnamon Melts from MacDonald's!!! I want so badly to try them but that will have to wait till SUNDAY. Anyway, there are actually reviews on it. (Haha. It just seems weird to me. Guess I have been living in m world of reviews for PRODUCTS. Reviews for food... That seems reasonable, isn't it? You have reviews for everything. Okay. Now, I'm the strange one. Haha.) The Impulsive Buy (Picture credit to this site!) has quite a detailed review. And despite the high content of saturated fats, calories and whatnots, the (faux) health nut that I am wants them very very very badly on my dining table!!!

And oh! There's the recipe for it online!!! I LOVE THE NET!!! But oh well, I'm not really the baking/ cooking type because I absolutely hate washing. :(((
Egad!!! I feel sooo hungry just looking at this picture!!! And this reminds me that I have yet to take my breakfast . (Background information: For the past week and when I'm not working, my breakfast = lunch because I wake up at 11am -12pm. Hahaha.)
-

chua ee fang says:

hhaahaha

And I have to work tomorrow. Charlene N. is sick, so Shirin's taking over her graveyard shift and I'm taking over Shirin's opening shift. There goes my lunch date with Eli. SORRY ELI!!! :(((

It's not a bird. DUH. It's an aeroplane.

LOOKIE!!! *screams* It's my Superman bag from Jay Jays!!! :))) Hui Ping got it for me. Thanks, thanks, thanks, a gazillion thanks!!! I love it sooo much. And it's just in time for school! (Hopefully my Cher bags come before end July!) Hmmm... This bag seems to be too pretty for school. Haha. And this is what darling Fel has to say...

Fel. says:
HAHAH
TOTALLY NOT MY KIND CHAR
it looks like underwear to me.
haahhaha

Haha. The 2 of us have such different tastes!!! Which is good. We won't be fighting for anything soon. :)))
-

P.S.: Dor, thanks a gazillion! Love you! :)))
P.P.S.: The shadow you see in the pic is ME. *gets excited* Haha.

because you are worth it.

It's kinda sad reading her blog. And the number of memories that it unearthed for me... It hurts, I guess. I don't think that it ever will stop actually. Yet at the same time, I'm glad that that's in the past. And won't ever be featured in the present, in the future.
-

It sucks that you never know whether the person that you're interacting with can be trusted or not. It sucks that there are so many people out there who aren't what they present themselves to be. A lot of times, it seems to be me that being alone beats knowing a gazillion people. But then, all the fun that you're missing...

I wish people's thoughts will come out in white solid clouds above their heads. And these clouds can be used for fuel and can replenish the depleting ozone layer.

How great a world is that?!?

I hope she will find a way to get approval. And I sincerely hope that the boy loves her. The sacrifices that she made... The boy'd better make sure that he's worth it.

Paranoid people should not engage in online transactions. It's harzardous for the health. Especially when it involves like $100.00+++. Gawd. How many hours did I have to work just to get that amount?!? Thanks to all the people who have been really nice about it though, answered my gazillion emails and stuff. And Felicia (for calming my nerves) and Dor (for pampering me)!!!

I'm down with a stupid flu and it's just gonna get busier soon. And gawd, NO RAIN PLEASE. Not today!!! :(((

REVIEW: Eryacne

Purchased from: Drugstores from Bangkok
Price: ???
Directions: Apply a thin layer on spots.
Comments:
Okay. This is absolutely my LIFESAVER. My cousin first introduced it to me. I remember once, just after prelims, I had like 5 imminent angry red spots. Gawd. I was so desperate because I was going out the next day. So my cousin, being the sweetest dude ever, lent me his lifesaver. Hahaha. It comes out from the tube as a transparent liquid. It isn't very gel-like, as stated on the box. Rather, water-like but with a little more substance. Okay, that sounds gel-like. Haha. Not the toothpaste kind-of gel. Once applied, it dries up spots real quick (I think it might not be such a good idea for people with dry skin to use it.). Anyway, I placed a really thin layer on my spots and TADAH!!! They were gone the next day!!! Yes, the NEXT DAY. I swear, this is a miracle for poor us who aren't blessed with baby-butt smooth skin. The only downside is that you need a prescription in order to get it in Singapore. :((( You don't have to, if you're in Bangkok though. They are like over-the-counter medication for acne and pimples.

REVIEW: Nixoderm

Purchased from: Watsons
Price: Below $5.00
Directions: Apply it on blackheads, spots and other skin irritations. (The given insert has a whole lot of detailed instructions. All that I did was cleanse my face and apply it where necessary before I drifted off to lala land.)
Comments:
I first came across this in 'Urban'. It's one of the items in Thomas Ong's bag. And because it was THOMAS ONG, I just had to check it out. There are 2 sizes for it. When I first opened, I was like "Gawd. Does it smell!!!". I think it's because of its sulphur content. (My siblings refuse to use it because of that.) Anyway, I tried it on a spot which was already formed. It stung real bad but it was cooling after that. It took about a week for the spot to COMPLETELY disappear but during the whole time, the spot became less red and unlike some medicine, there was no ugly dark pigmentation left in its place after it R.I.P. So yep, it's definitely a CHEAP and good solution to spots.

For now, I only apply it on my T-zone whenever I'm in the mood (I mean, it still stinks and stings!). Haha. I have too many remedies for spots.
